Chicago lost the weekend series to Cincinnati, losing the last game 7-3. Chicago has already clinched a spot in the postseason and is 2.5 games ahead of Minnesota in the AL Central. The White Sox will send Dane Dunning to the mound for the start against Cleveland. In his last outing, he went gave up one run on three hits in seven innings and he struck out seven. He is 2-0 this season with a 2.33 ERA Dunning holds a 2.33 ERA in his first 27 big-league innings.

Cleveland won their series against Detroit and came away with a 7-4 win on Sunday. The Indians have a 2.5 game lead over Toronto for the first Wild Card spot in the American League. The Indians will send out Aaron Civale to face the White Sox. In his last outing, he threw six innings allowing two runs on seven hits and struck out three. He has made it through the sixth inning in all ten of his starts this season and has posted a 3.80 ERA.

Chicago is 5-0 in Dunning's last five starts and 4-0 in Dunning's last four divisional starts while Cleveland is 1-7 in Civale's last eight starts vs. a team with a winning record

Chicago just wins when Dunning is on the mound. The same can't be said for Cleveland and Cervale and they have lost its last five games as an underdog with him on the mound. This has been a special season for Chicago and it continues today with Dunning on the mound.
